Skin tightening achieved with laser is one of the most effective and popular skin firming treatments in the industry. It works by increasing the skin temperature to around 40 degrees, which is hot enough for your skin cells to perceive damage. They the cells begin to build collagen and elastin to repair the ‘wound’, which results in firmer, tighter skin developing over the following 3 months.

Small pulses of laser energy are used whilst a continuous burst of cool air is also focused on the area (this is to relieve you of any pain from the laser).
During treatment, you will feel a small stinging sensation however, this should resolve itself within minutes after the session.
How long does the treatment take?
The duration of this treatment usually depends on the size of the treatment area. On average, most appointments last for between 30 – 60 minutes.
Do I need to do anything before and after the treatment?
Our specialist will provide you with before and after advice during your initial consultation. Before the treatment, you must avoid excessive sun exposure for 4-6 weeks. Tanned skin cannot be treated with laser skin tightening and any self tanning products must be stopped one week prior to treatment. Any products must be removed before having any treatment, although our specialist does wipe the skin beforehand, we advise washing any products off before coming to your appointment.
After treatment, we do advise there may be some mild redness and swelling which should only last up to 2 hours after treatment. Redness can last up to 2-3 days. This treatment may feel similar to sun burn for a few hours but most clients have noted that their skin feels pleasantly warm after treatments. Our specialist can provide you with a cooling method (including cooling machine or ice pack) to ensure that you are comfortable. The specialist will also advise and prescribe any medication that may help maximise results or reduce the side effects. We advise you use SPF 30+ at all times during the treatments.
Does the treatment cause any pain?
There may be a slight heat on the affected area and small tingling sensations. We use various methods including cryogen, ice packs and cooling air to keep any pain to a minimum. Our technicians always check throughout the treatment that you are comfortable and at ease.
If you are prone to herpes breakouts, have skin conditions such as cancer, scar easily and develop keloids or use acne medication should consult their medical professionals before receiving the treatment.
Pregnant women should not receive this treatment.
