What is a skin tag?

A skin tag is a small, common skin growth occurring anywhere on the body. They are common on the neck, armpits, eyelids and under the breasts. Some skin tags can grow larger over time, and this can be an irritating problem. They are simple to remove and will generally only need 1 session.

What are warts?

Warts are small lumps than develop on the skin. They are usually firm and raised and mostly have a rough, irregular surface. They are caused by a virus, and once treated may return over the next months and years, as the virus can stay active in the body for many years.  Warts can be difficult to remove and may need several sessions to get rid of entirely.

What is Seborrhoeic Keratosis?

These are a type of wart. They are common, harmless growths on the skin. The colour can range from pink to almost black.

As with any skin lesion being removed, you may experience the following:

• Discomfort—To ensure comfort, an anaesthetic may be applied to the skin lesion and the area surrounding it. However, some pain may be felt during and after the procedure, which is natural and should subside with time.
• Infection – Although rare, an infection may occur where the skin procedure is performed.
• Pigment changes—As the area heals, it may become lighter or darker. Pigment changes are usually temporary, can be part of the healing process, and rarely are permanent.
• Scarring – As the skin’s surface is disrupted, scarring may occur. To minimise the chance of scarring, it is important that post-treatment guidelines are followed.
