This is an outstanding chemical peel treatment which superficially exfoliates the skin to improve the look, texture and health of the skin in a matter of minutes. What makes Blue Radiance peel unique?
This peel is designed to loosen the desmosomes (bonds that hold dead skin on the face) to allow exfoliation of excess dead skin. The formulation is also anti-inflammatory (which reduces redness), and anti-bacterial (to reduce breakouts).
How long does the Blue Radiance procedure last?
We book a 30-minute appointment, but the peel itself is only on for a maximum of 6 minutes. In subsequent treatments we may layer the peel to get the best results, but it will still only stay on the skin for a very short time.
Is the Blue Radiance treatment painful?
Most people find the peel to feel hot, tingly, or itchy, and some can find it uncomfortable. This is a medical peel of very high strength, so it would be unusual to feel nothing with this particular peel.
What is the downtime for the Blue Radiance peel treatment?
After treatment the skin may look red/pink for several hours or days, and the skin may start to shed after the first day. This flaking/peeling may take up to 5 days to stop, and we recommend using lots of moisturiser to keep the skin hydrated and minimise the tight feeling.
How many Blue Radiance treatments will I need?
A course of 4-6 treatments is usually recommended, but it depends on the condition of the skin and the results we are trying to achieve. Your skin therapist will discuss this with you during your initial consultation.
