The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and IPL Treatments is an advanced qualification designed for beauty professionals who wish to develop specialist skills in hair reduction and skin rejuvenation treatments using laser and intense pulsed light technology. This course provides the in-depth knowledge and practical training required to work safely and effectively in a clinical or salon environment.
Who is This Qualification For?
- Learners aged 18+
- Qualified beauty therapists with a Level 3 Beauty Therapy or Access to Aesthetics qualification, including Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology
- Professionals seeking to advance into aesthetic therapy or clinical beauty practice
Course Structure
Learners must complete four mandatory units:
- Management of health, safety and security in the salon
- Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
- Laser and light treatments for hair removal
- Laser and light treatments for skin rejuvenation
Training combines theory (covering laser physics, safety, and client consultation) with practical skills in using professional laser and IPL equipment.
Assessment
The qualification is assessed through:
- A portfolio of evidence (case studies, written work, assignments, documented treatments)
- Practical assessments carried out under observation
- Knowledge assessments, including oral and written questioning
Course Duration and Enrolment
- Duration: Approximately 16 weeks (part-time study). We provide 3 Days of Practice on Real clients to consolidate your knowledge and practical perfection.
- Cost: £2,500 (including tuition, assessments, and certification fees)
- Enrolment: Open all year round, with flexible start dates to suit learners
Entry Requirements
- Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification or equivalent, including Anatomy & Physiology
- Aged 18 or over
Progression Opportunities
On completion, learners will be fully qualified to deliver professional laser hair reduction and skin rejuvenation treatments in salons, spas, and aesthetic clinics.
Further progression routes include:
- VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Aesthetic Treatments
- VTCT Level 5 Certificate in Laser Tattoo Removal
- VTCT Level 4 Award in Skin Peeling or Micro-needling
